My plan is to truly convey Africa’s kaleidoscope Morocco through the lens of a photojournalist; exploring the Agafay desert, Atlas mountain, markets of Marrakech as well as dive into Moroccan’s everyday lives, their Muslim beliefs and what they have to bring to the table for tourism. I will interview Marrakesh-based but England-born travel agent Debbie Calvert, originally from South East London, England, who left her suburban lifestyle to commute and start over in a desert chronicle in the North West of Africa… During a global pandemic, too.
I am planning on two trips to Morocco between January and May: In February, and again in April. Before Ramadan, and after. As a photojournalist, my plan is to focus the first trip on the realism of being a resident in Morocco; focusing primarily on the streets, markets, mountains and domestic well being and living. In my secondary visit, I prepare to take on the Agafay desert, see the views of Morocco from a hot air balloon, as well as explore corners of the world journalism has not reached before, and document it all through the justification of an iPhone or Canon camera lens.
